About the ACDD

A platform for meaningful exchange

The African Cultures and Democratic Dialogue (ACDD) is the flagship annual dialogue platform of Cagintua e.V., established in 2009 to strengthen dialogue, cooperation and mutual understanding between Africa and Europe.

The ACDD brings together policymakers, diplomatic missions, public institutions, universities, researchers, students, civil society organisations, migrant and diaspora organisations, refugee communities, grassroots initiatives and international partners to exchange ideas, share experiences and develop practical responses to contemporary social challenges.

Our Direction

Vision and Mission

Our Vision

A society in which policymakers, researchers, communities and the younger generation work together as equal partners to shape inclusive, democratic and sustainable societies in Africa and Europe.

Our Mission

The ACDD bridges the dialogue gap between policymakers, knowledge institutions, communities and the younger generation by creating spaces where diverse experiences, expertise and perspectives come together to inspire practical solutions, strengthen mutual understanding and build sustainable partnerships between Africa and Europe.

What Makes the ACDD Different?

Equal voices. Shared solutions.

A defining feature of the ACDD is its commitment to bridging the dialogue gap between policymakers, communities, knowledge institutions and the younger generation.

The conference creates a unique space to:

  • Promote democratic participation
  • Strengthen social inclusion

  • Encourage evidence-informed discussions
  • Build sustainable partnerships between Africa and Europe
