Introduction: The 7th African Culture and Democratic Dialogue (7 ACDD) conference was successfully organized on October 22, 2021, in response to the prevailing global COVID-19 pandemic. Due to health and safety concerns, this year’s conference transitioned to a virtual format, conducted via the Zoom platform. The conference aimed to facilitate networking, discussions, and the exchange of ideas among participants, focusing on addressing challenges faced by African refugees in Brandenburg, Germany, particularly emphasizing issues of discrimination. The conference also included sessions discussing integration strategies and the contributions of refugees to development projects in Africa.

Conference Goals: The primary goal of the 7 ACDD conference was to provide a platform for participants to engage in meaningful dialogues, share experiences, and propose solutions to the challenges faced by African refugees in the context of Brandenburg. The conference aimed to foster a sense of unity, promote cultural exchange, and strengthen democratic dialogue among participants, including individuals joining from various African countries through online connectivity.

Conference Highlights: The conference commenced at 1:00 p.m. with an introductory session, welcoming attendees and outlining the day’s agenda. The event featured a diverse array of speakers and presenters who brought expertise, personal experiences, and insights to the table.

Presentations and Discussions:

  1. Discrimination and Refugee Challenges: One of the central discussions revolved around the issue of discrimination faced by African refugees in Brandenburg. Presenters explored the different dimensions of discrimination and shared experiences that highlighted the urgency of addressing this concern.
