Registration opens for 7. African Cultures and Democratic Dialogue
Roles of migrant organisations and local partners in creating perspective for young women and men in Nigeria using permaculture „What are the dreams and wishes of young Africans with regard to improving their living conditions? What demands do we make on politics?“ „How are colonisation, flight and causes of flight related?“ How migrant volunteers support refugees during coronavirus crisis. We want to explore and answer these and many other questions. The 6th African Culture and Democratic Dialogue will give people from the global South and the global North the opportunity to connect, discuss and exchange ideas. We will talk about various actions that are currently underway and exchange ideas that may help to create perspectives for African refugees in Brandenburg and for young people in Africa. Among other things, the permaculture project in Nigeria and its current status will be presented by Dr. Titilayo Ajuwon. David Afreh from Ghana will talk about flight and the reasons for flight and Fatuma Musa Afrah will deal with the topic of colonialism and its influence on migration. Furthermore Golden Okwuosa will turn our attention to the topic of how refugees in Germany can improve their financial situation and Geraldine Mua Ikia will create a picture of how the health of women and children in refugee shelters looks like in the Corona period. Students and refugees are invited to exchange views on their participation in political developments and the expectation of a better world they wish for. Newly founded migrant organisations will have the opportunity to network with other migrant organisations and local NGOs for future partnership. Due to the corona pandemic, this year's event will take place virtually on the Internet. Cagintua e.V. cordially invite you! Let us get in touch with each other and work together for a better future Participation in this conference is free, but only by registration or invitation. Support Young Permaculture Farmers in Nigeria
Many young women and men in Nigeria are left alone to fend for themselves. Some of these young people have no relatives among the politicians and people in authority. Some of these young people become school drop out, some ended up sleeping on the streets and some follow irregular way out of country to seek for better life. Reports show that some of these young women and men that follow irregular way out of the country are faced with many dangers including rape, torture and death on their way to Europe and middle east. Many also become stranded in their countries of destinations due to rejection of their asylum applications. Many are faced with super racism and discrimination! Cagintua e.V. is working in cooperation with other organisations to empower refugees and provide them with necessary information for their better integration. We also provide necessary information to the young people in Nigeria, Ghana, cameroon and Kenya about dangers of irregular emigration. Supporting the efforts of young people to create perspective in Africa and assisting refugees to create perspective in Brandenburg is the focus of our seminars, workshops and conferences. New Africa is it possible?
$50 billion dollars is being stolen away from Africa yearly. This news is all over there on internet. Africa is not a poor continent!
Europe owes Africa just a single thing. „Working with Africa to create a new state inside the continent of Africa where basic welfare and basic health care are both possible!“ Making scape goat out of migration is not a solution, Creating a better Africa for Africans to live is a solution! Who is fighting for the right of poor Africans? Definitely not those that deny the poor people of basic welfare and basic health care. Surely, not those that import weapons to Africa and not those that send weapons to Africa to kill Africans and also not those that are killing African economy. The condition in which Africa finds itself today was as a result of colonisation. Who are we going to blame tomorrow for the lives of young people dying daily trying to reach Europe today? Africa is witnessing modern day slave trade and many are pretending as if no crime is being committed. This is nothing but crime against humanity. To deny people of basic welfare and basic health care when politicians are stealing large sum of money away from Africa on daily basis. This is crime against humanity! Young people die on daily basis, this is crime against humanity. It could be prevented. Reports show that many young women and men would remain in Africa if there is a country in Africa that offers what the young people seek to enjoy in Europe.( Basic welfare and basic heath care) A lot of young people would not see any reason to seek to enter Europe

V African Cultures and Democratic Dialogue
„Educate the people, provide educative information, lift the people out of darkness and show them the light. Let the people know and understand that they have the right to challenge those that oppress them. Empower the children and women and allow them to demand for their right.“ This was one of the statements that declared the 5 African cultures and democratic dialogue open in the city of Potsdam in Germany. This meeting took place from 26.10.2018 till 27.10.2018 One of the participants said, „Enforce the law. Not in a discriminatory way. No one should be above the law.“ She pointed out that anti corruption agencies set up in many countries in Africa have become political weapons and instruments of oppressing oppositions. This is as a result of absence of law enforcement. Many people in Africa are afraid of reporting cases at police stations because they fear police could turn the table against them simply because they have no money with which to bribe the police. „If it is illegal for a poor Africans to migrate and seek for a better life in Europe why should rich politicians from Africa be given right to seek for medical treatment in Europe? It would only make them neglect improving health services at home in Africa.“ said one of the participants. „Make Africa attractive for young people to live. The young people in Africa see Germany as very attractive, that is why they decide to make Germany their destination. African politicians that steal money and keep them in Europe, see Europe as a beautiful and safe land that is why they decide to keep their loots there too. Why criminalising the victims and laying red carpets for the criminals? „Stop Hypocrites.“ Mr. Samuel Arthur one of the participants from Ghana said. „Stop pretending.“ It‘s either those in charge in some of those countries in Africa do not know anything about democracy or they are confused. If the way they are governing since independence is the way they want to continue ruling then, those calling for erection of wall to separate Europe from Africa need to rethink because people would climb those walls to reach Europe, not in thousands but in millions. Partnership for good governance if you do not know the way forward. Some of the participants also advised their various governments in Africa to seek for partner countries to assist them in governance if they are stocked of new ideas. Erection of border was described as discriminatory because it is only targeted against the poor people. Why don‘t European government criminalise stealing of mineral resources from Africa? Why don‘t they criminalise stealing and keeping of African money by African politicians in Europe? Why should those Banks in some European countries still accept money to keep for African politicians? Why should people be barred from moving from one place to the other? What is important for the leaders of Africa and Europe is to work together and make Africa also a better place to live. In his opening speech, Obiri Mokini, the president of Cagintua e.V. told the participants that „we are here in Germany because of some kinds of activities going on in our countries that still require dialogue“ Yes, there are many of those activities and among them is bad governance which many of the corrupt politicians hate to hear. The issue of corruption was mentioned by the participants several times as being a major factor in pushing out a lot of African young people out of the continent. „It is only in a bad government that leaders would be stealing 51 billion dollars yearly from Africa to keep in other parts of the world while Ghana is trying to seek for loan of same amount from China.“ Said David Kwesi Afreh David Kwesi Afreh, is the president of Omega project management foundation in Ghana and a co organiser of the event which brought representatives of African migrant organisations and refugees in Germany together. At the United Nations

Youth Against Violence And Terrorism. What you never knew about young terrorists.
The workshop, Youth against terrorism and violence which was organised by Cagintua e.V. on 07.09.2016 shed more light on the methods being used by this group to lore young people into their camps. The method being used by the terrorists to bring the young people include: Promising them the evolution system reword: They tell the young people that after they die they would be carried in the belly of a green bird to heaven. They persuade these young people to use their talents to help people in the colonies of the terrorist like ISIS and Boko Haram. Let us remember that young people like to offer help. The young people innocently believed that they were only going to help the trapped people. They did not know that as soon as they get into the enclave they would be given guns and forced to start to kill others. This workshop told us that many of these young people wanted to turn back but were not allowed to go. Because young people are always ready to offer help, they believe that what they are going to do in the terrorist camps is just to be offering help and not to kill. When they arrive there, the terrorists collected their passports and do not allow them to go out. This prevent them from leaving the territory of the terrorist even after they have discovered that they made wrong decisions. During this period the terrorists are able to brainwash and radicalise them further and make them do whatever they tell them to do. It is true that they forced these young people to use drugs. What could a parent do if she/he notice that the child is behaving strangely and getting sympathetic to the act of violence? The best thing to do is to consult the advisory Centers where experts could engage and speak with the child. The parents could speak quietly with their children by not using force on them. If the parents use force on the children this may prompt the children to go wild and seek to know more about the groups. Speaking with the wrong person that may eventually lure them into the camp of the terrorists. No participants at this workshop wanted to appear publicly in the photos. Those that did preferred to be photographed from behind. Please pardon us for not naming the trainer. We understand! Full report on this project is available in German language here. This project is sponsored by "Stiftung Nord-Süd-Brücken" |
